Fleetwood’s Festive Light and Lantern Parade Switch On

Kick off Christmas with Fleetwood's Festive Light and Lantern Parade Switch on. This Saturday at 5:15 pm a grand procession of festive lights will march through Lord Street and North Albert Street to Marine Hall Gardens. Here this medley of festive lanterns will clutter the town of Fleetwood, and truly bring the community together!

Thanks to a huge donation of £8,000 from BES Utilities, a local business energy supplier, Fleetwood’s Christmas lights have been made bigger and better bringing its grand total to £20,000.

With this mammoth donation brought together by the local community, an abundance of Christmas trees and stunning decorations will be displayed throughout the main streets of Fleetwood. And for the first time since the 1950's, Fleetwood's Mount Pavilion will be shining this Christmas for all to enjoy.

Fleetwood's Christmas lights will be switched on by Dave Leo and his family, in a heart-warming tribute to his late wife Karen, who played a vital role in the huge efforts made to bring Christmas Back to Fleetwood.

Karen's daughter Louise Tennant said: "The community spirit is great and people want to see the town at its best. To see The Mount lit up fully will be wonderful and I am so chuffed that my mum's dream will be realised."

Already 1,000s residents are joining for this amazing event, and we hope that many from far and wide will take the opportunity not only to celebrate Christmas but be part of the fantastic community.
