An amazing display of community spirit and Christmas cheer was spread throughout Fleetwood last Saturday. With thousands coming together to celebrate Fleetwood's wealth of heritage and amazing efforts made by local volunteers.
Its lantern-lit procession cascaded through the main streets of the town heading to the Marine Gardens, where Fleetwood's Christmas lights were switched on by locals Dave Leo and family, in a heart-warming tribute to late wife Karen, who played a vital role in the organisation of this truly magical event.
Thanks to donations made by the local community, volunteers and local business, BES Utilities who donated a huge £8,000, brought the grand total to over £20,000. Fleetwood was able to light up their town this Christmas including The Mount Pavilion, which hasn't been illuminated since the 1950s.
BES director and co-founder Michelle Davidson said: "It was great to see the streets so full of families all getting in the Christmas spirit. As a Fleetwood-based company, we are proud to be associated with an event which has brought the whole town together."
This heart-warming spectacle of festive celebrations, community spirit and fun for all the family, has truly demonstrated this town's huge hearts.
